Looking for Good Programmers

I’m always looking for good programmers who can follow requirements. I always have projects to do, and am looking for people to do them for me.

Right now I have:

  • Six WordPress Themes (two are taken)
  • Four CodeIgniter Projects (two are taken)
  • Two WordPress Multiuser (WPMU) Projects.  (WPMU isn’t much different from WordPress, if you know how to code for it.
  • Two WordPress plugins
  • One project using ImageMagick and WordPress (another WordPress Plugin)

I’m actually a web developer myself, but my full time job doesn’t leave me much time to work on my own business.  (My employer knows about my side business, and it was actually one of the reasons he hired me.)  Because I’m a programmer, I can help you if you get stuck or have questions.  I also write pretty good requirements, and where possible I create videos to show what’s needed.

I’m looking for people:

  • With a great attitude and who enjoy coding.
  • Who know PHP very well.
  • Who are able to figure out new code easily.

Should be VERY GOOD at one or more of these skill sets:

  • Javascript
  • CSS/HTML, especially WordPress Theming
  • CodeIgniter
  • WordPress Plugin Development (I do not care if you know how to set up and use WordPress.  Anyone can figure this out in a day or so.)
  • Test Driven Development  is a plus.  I use SimpleTest where possible.

I will teach you to use SVN change control – it’s actually very easy.  All project code is in SVN, and all documentation is on Basecamp.

If you’re interested in working with me, do not send me a resume.  Please send a portfolio of your work and a short explanation of your experience.

If it looks like we would be a good match, here’s what we’ll do.  I’ll assign you a project on Basecamp, with complete details about the project.  There will also be an SVN repository where you can check out your code, as well as a development server set up using Cpanel.  We’ll agree on a price and a deadline, and I’ll check your work.

If that project turns out well, we’ll try 2-3 more projects.

If the projects all turn out well, I’ll hire you full time.  If that sounds good, please contact me through the contact page.
